National Rally 2007, Kelmarsh Hall.
Four of us travelled up together to Kelmarsh Hall on the Friday. We were to
camp over the weekend and meet up with some other Branch members. The
weather was very wet, and we had rain just as we nearly got to the Hall. It
was touch and go that week if the rally had to be cancelled. But the
weather was nice for the rest of the weekend and on the Saturday evening we
even managed to have our barbecue outside.
We were able to browse around the many autojumble stalls and the many Morris
Minors on display. Some of had a tour of the Hall itself and on the Saturday
there was a wedding held.
Members from the Branch included Pam and Owen Smith, Jacky and Brian Lloyd,
Martin Wallis and Sue, Tricia and Jimmy Loades, Bryan Gostling and John and
Maureen Barbour.
Pam did well with coming first in the 1000 convertible class and received a
trophy and two certificates. John Barbour also came home with a trophy for
first in the Series II Saloon category. Bryan Gostling was awarded the Jack
Daniels Award for Endeavour. So well done to you all.
We all had an enjoyable weekend with good company and plenty of food, so thank
you to all those that participated. Hopefully we will all do it again at next
years National rally.
