The Minor Million

In 1961 the Morris Minor production reached One Million, the first british car to do so. In celebration of this fact the first ever "Special Edition" was produced by BMC. 350were made in a very striking shade of pink with white seats and trim. Nowadays there are about 16 left on the road with a few others under restoration and in museums.

Within the Iceni Branch we are lucky to have three of these wonderfull cars in our ranks. These three joined in with six others and a white Traveller in the Minor Million Rally held over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of October 2004.

Starting in Saffrom Walden, taking in stops at Clare and Balsham, they then travelled to the final destination at the former WW2 airfield at Duxford.

Below are a selection of Photo's taken by Patricia Capps, Owen Smith and Chris Plumber.
