Jim's Wreckers

Jimmy's picture is of his 1955 Scammell Explorer.  It once had an eight cylinder Meadows petrol engine in but has been replaced with a Gardener diesel engine.  It is a 6 x 4 wheel drive.  It was once used by the REME for Tank recovery and transportation.  It weighs approximately 11 tonnes.  The speed is approximately 25-30 MPH.  Jimmy has owned it for about eight years.  He bought it from Willingham in Cambridgeshire.  Jimmy also belongs to the Scammell Register.

Patricia's Morris Oxford

Mine is of my 1954 Morris Oxford Series MO.  I purchased it in 1984 from Huddersfield, Yorkshire, where my father drove it home from.  It hasn't had a lot of work done to it over the years.  I have driven it on holiday to Guernsey and Jersey, as well as to the Isle of Mann.  It has taken me to numerous rallies over the past twenty-three years all over the country.  The photo is of Jimmy and myself on our wedding day in 2005.  It was used to take me to the church.  It is one of the last Series MO's made in 1954 and has a column change gear box.
