There is still time to join us at The Greyhound, Ixworth near Bury St Edmunds for our New Year meal. The time is 12-30pm for 1pm. We have nearly filled the spaces available, but if you can come, please let Tricia know as soon as possible. Cold desserts are £3-50 or hot desserts are £4-00 which include apple crumble, sticking toffee pudding, spotted dick or bread and butter pudding, served with custard or cream.
Don’t forget to bring presents wrapped up for our belated Secret Santa. Please bring two if you are coming as a couple. That way everybody will receive at present. Brian Lloyd will be presenting the trophy to the person he has chosen to be ’Member of the Year’.
24th January - Restoration Show.
The Restoration Show that was cancelled last year will now be held again as usual at the Norfolk Showground. At the bowling meeting members present decided to have a Branch stand there again. So we organised for a pick-up prior to restoration and an already restored saloon to be displayed. We will have our usual regalia for sale and as it is our 30th Anniversary, a special cake is being made for us to give away to visiting members.
Also at the Restoration Show will be an auction of classic vehicles, automobilia and cherished number plates. There will be car and bike autojumble and club and trade stands. The event starts at 9-30 am and the admission if £5-00 per person. This is an indoor event with some outdoor stalls. Come along and take a look if you haven’t been before, we always have an enjoyable day.
25th April - Drive It Day.
More details in the next Newsletter but should be around the North Norfolk area.
23rd May - Autojumble, Langley.
To celebrate our 30th Anniversary of the Branch we are holding an event at Tricia and Jimmy Loades’ at Boundary Farm, Langley along the same lines as the Technical Weekend two years ago.
This time though it will be just the one day on the Sunday and we are having an outdoor autojumble and stalls, another road run and hopefully other attractions. We are in the planning stage at the present and if you have any suggestions, let Tricia know. More details will be in the next Newsletter.
25th July - Norfolk and Suffolk Branch Rally.
This year our Branch rally will be held at Banham Zoo. As well as all the attractions of the animals, there is a giant car boot sale in the morning. Again more details next Newsletter.
11th & 12th September - Anniversary run.
We are to start near King’s Lynn with a guided tour and talk by a gamekeeper, then on to a working mill. We have an evening meal and party at Stowmarket and accommodation will be available. Sunday would be a visit to the Suffolk Punch horses and Martin will be holding his usual tests and questions along the way. More details as and when available. The Essex Branch should be joining us along the way as they also celebrate their 30th this year.
STANDS
30th May - Great Yarmouth Classic Car Show.
We have been invited to attend this car show and we have said we will attend with a stand. It is at the Wellesley Recreation Ground, Great Yarmouth and the entry fee is £5-00 per car. Donations from the rally are made to Macmillian Nurses. There will be a raffle and stalls. If you are interested in attending, please let Tricia know.
30th August - The Lavenham Press Rare Breeds Motor Show.
Every year we are invited to this event and as yet have not attended. So as Minor Matters is printed by the Lavenham Press and we haven’t been before, we thought we would have a stand here to promote our 30th Anniversary. More details will be known later, but if you are interested in coming along, please let Tricia know.

EVENT REPORTS
15th November - Annual General Meeting.
Our Chairman, Owen Smith, welcomed twelve members and one guest to our Annual General Meeting.
Members present all received a copy of the Branch accounts and our Treasurer Jacky read through them. We have still got a healthy bank account and so the membership fee of £6-00 will remain for 2011. If you would like a copy of the accounts, please contact Jacky Lloyd.
The Committee was all voted back in, as we had received no nominations for posts. Tricia mentioned that she has now been Secretary for 25 years.
We then had a discussion on the forthcoming events for 2010, the results of which you will see elsewhere in this Newsletter.
After we closed the meeting our Chairman Owen then presented our guest Chris Smedley with a mirror of her old convertible.
Chris was a founder member of the Branch and we thanked her for all the work she has done for the Branch over the last 30 years. Chris was made an honorary member and she hopes to attend some of our future events. We then had a quiz brought by Tricia, which were questions on cakes and confectionery. Jacky and Brian Lloyd won with 11 out of 20 and Chris Smedley came a close second with 10 out of 20. They all received some seasonal chocolates as a prize. Thank you to Pam Smith and ladies who made the refreshments. If you would like a copy of the minutes, please let Tricia know.
6th December - Bowling.
Ten members enjoyed the ten-pin bowling at Bury Bowl, Bury St Edmunds. Eight members bowled, so we had two teams of four. Again this time it was Ipswich versus the Rest. Ipswich team was made up of Brian Lloyd, Angie and Gordon Leaver and Martin Wallis. The Rest
consisted of Tricia and Jimmy Loades, Sue Tarrant and Owen Smith. Yes, I did say Owen, as he decided to play!At the end of the first game stage there was only eight points between the two teams. The Rest being slightly ahead. But after the second game The Rest won by 35 points. They had 925 points and Ipswich had 890 points.
We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I think Owen surprised himself with his score. The end scores were Brian 260, Angie 174, Gordon 278, Martin 178, Tricia 239, Jimmy 233, Owen 233 and Sue 220. Jacky had taken our lunch orders during the games and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal. Which was followed by a raffle. Thank you to those who brought prizes.
Owen then presented our trophy to The Rest team, which was accepted for us by Sue. Gordon received a prize for the highest score and wife Angie was given a prize to help her practice for next time.Thank you to Brian and Jacky for organising the day and to Pam for selling the raffle tickets.

For those that haven’t yet renewed your membership, this Newsletter will be the last one that you will receive. Please do renew and enjoy what we have planned for this year. Don’t forget to send in details of your car and email address. We have had a very good response to this. Those that have already renewed and sent their email address will have received this by email and it is proposed to send the Newsletters monthly, so that any information received can be sent sooner for rallies and events.
We hope that Sue Tarrant and Ken Allen are now feeling better after their recent illnesses. We look forward to seeing them soon.
