MEETINGS
Our meetings are varied from
January to April and October and is advisable to see the current
newsletter or contact the secretary for events planned. We usually hold
meetings on the Third Sunday in the month where possible. November we
hold our Annual General Meeting and in December our Christmas Dinner.
RALLIES
The Norfolk and Suffolk branch aim
to bring members from Norfolk and Suffolk together, also to meet Morris
Minor Owners Club members from around the Country who attend our
rallies. We organise Two rallies during the season. We usually hold the
Iceni Branch Rally in Norfolk and the Norfolk and Suffolk Branch Rally
in Suffolk. This way members in both counties get to attend at least one
Rally.
We have a small informal rally in
May known as " The Iceni Rally ". Since 1986 when we had the first one
we have visited, Thurston Steam Museum, Wroxham Barns, the Iceni Village
at Cockley Cley, the Muckleburgh Collection, Fleggburgh Bygone Village,
Bure Valley Railway at Aylesham and Pensthorpe Wildfowl Trust. We have
had a trip around the Tudor Tour Run, as well as organising our own
Mills and Minor Run, a run to County School Station and the Norfolk
Rural Life Museum and Shops at Thursford, plus a trip to Dereham Railway
Station and the Ecotech Centre at Swaffrham.
The Norfolk and Suffolk Branch
Rally is usually held in July in Suffolk. Since the first started in
1985 we have visited the Transport Museum at Carlton Colville, The
Museum of East Anglian Life at Stowmarket, Bressingham Steam Museum,
Easton Farm Park, West Stow Anglo Saxon Village, Giffords Hall, Hartest,
Banham Zoo, Fritton Lane, Stonham Barns, Rougham Airfield and Kentwell
Hall.
We have in the past been
organisers of the Eastern Area Rally, mainly held at the Norfolk
Showground, Costessey, Norwich, as well as Oulton Broad and Lotus Cars,
Hethel and the Eye Show. A number of members had organised runs and we
have visited places such as Suffolk Churches, Tolly Cobbold Brewery,
Sizewell B power station, Ipswich and Seething Airfield and the Norfolk
and Suffolk Aviation Museum, Flixton.
GENERAL INFORMATION
We have in the past organised
Autojumbles.These were known as "The Norfolk Autojumbles". At our AGM
some of the funds we made through the year at the Autojumbles were
donated to charities of our members choices. To date we have donated
over £ 13,000.
Membership of our branch is £5.00 per
year and you will receive a bi-monthly newsletter, that includes a list
