27th & 28th June 2009 - National Rally.
Two Morris Minors and two motorhomes travelled the long journey to the Haynes
Motor Museum at Sparkford, Somerset, arriving on the Thursday afternoon.
Chris Mitchell in his saloon, Jacky and Brian Lloyd in their newly owned
pick-up and Owen and Pam Smith and Tricia and Jimmy Loades in their motorhomes.
We were joined later by Ken, Debbie and Ben Allen in their saloon and Martin
Wallis and Sue in their Marina.
During the Thursday night we had rain, but for the rest of the weekend it
remained fine. On the Friday and Saturday nights, we had barbecue's with
Brian Lloyd as our chef once more. On the Friday we enjoyed a trip around the
Motor Museum and particulary enjoyed their red room, where every car is red!

On Saturday we set up our Branch stand on Branch Avenue and as we were near
the ring we had entertainment throughout the day, with a Caribbean Steel Band
and Bird's of Prey display.

We had plenty of laughs over the weekend, but were disappointed with the
toilets. Or rather lack of them. Some of us returned home on the Sunday, but
Brian and Jacky were going on further to visit Devon and Cornwall for their
holiday.
