16th July 2006 - Norfolk and Suffolk Branch Rally.
This year we held our Branch Rally at St Felix School, Reydon
in conjunction with the Lowestoft Classic Vehicle Club. The weather was the
hottest day of the year and we sweltered under our gazebo all day. We had a
disappointing turnout with just eleven cars, but everybody was friendly and
enjoyed the day.
One of the competitions at the Vehicle Clubs rally was guess
how many spark plugs were in the programme. This was won by one of our
entrants, Stephen and Philipa Miller from Bury St Edmund's. They won £25-00.
They also won one of their raffle prizes.
We had three prize categories. The Best in Show was judged by
one of the rally organisers Steve Parsons. He chose Nathan Long's cream
saloon, as he thought it was the car that was most loved. The longest
distance prize was won by Chris Mitchell from Haverhill with 78 miles. Tricia
Loades won the shortest distance travelled with 21 miles. We gave Stephen and
Philipa Miller the £14-00 from the barbecue raffle towards their entry into
the Lord Mayors Show in London in November.
