10th December 2006 - Christmas Lunch.
Our Christmas Lunch this year was held at The Bunbury Arms, Great Barton near
Bury St Edmund's. We had our own room for the lunch and the venue was very
popular judging by the number of other diners. We all tucked into a three
course lunch and were given hats and crackers. We welcomed Goff Underwood's
mother and daughter and her husband from Milton Keynes.
The ladies were all given a buttonhole courtesy of our Chairman Owen. After
the meal we held our raffle and raised £50-00. Thank you to members who
brought raffle prizes wrapped in Christmas paper. Goff's mother Kath and my
Grandmother Ivy were both given a bunch of flowers.
Our new shield for "Member of the Year" was presented to
myself (Tricia Loades). I am the first to receive this award and thank Owen for
giving it to me. It will be my turn next year to present it to the person who I
think to be "Member of the Year". So keep up the good work you members - I'm
keeping an eye out!
